Charley’s Signs Franchise Deal For Dominican Republic

The Columbus-based franchisor of the Charley’s Grilled Subs chain is growing south of the border.

Gosh Enterprises Inc., which runs Charley’s Grilled Subs, said it struck a deal with franchisee Mario Contreras to open its first restaurant in the Dominican Republic. Charley’s said it hopes to add four restaurants in the Caribbean nation by 2014.

Contreras is the franchisee behind six Charley’s restaurants in Florida, two in South Carolina, one in Panama and four in Venezuela. The company said he recently signed an agreement to add more than a dozen Charley’s restaurants in Venezuela.
