Not Your Mom's Tupperware Party

Comox Valley Record:

Stella and Dot Independent Stylists, Deanne McRae and Elizabeth Yap-Chung have joined the newest wave of social selling — facilitating boutique jewelry ‘trunk show’ events for busy, fashionable women who want to shop and visit with friends at the same time.

In a previous lifetime, McRae and Yap-Chung were the original owners of Retroactive Clothing in downtown Courtenay, but now these two busy entrepreneurial moms are loving the flexibility of this new business and how it fits their lifestyles so well.

Social selling is all about getting a group of women together to catch up while having the luxury to shop privately with a dedicated stylist who can answer questions and make suggestions.

“There is no pressure to buy. It is laid back and fun as guests try on jewelry and mingle. Instead of a drink, dinner and a movie, you can buy a necklace for the same price,” said McRae.

Stella and Dot Jewellery is designed by celebrity stylists Blythe Harris and Maya Brenner and has been featured in Redbook, InStyle, Home and Garden, Lucky, and O Magazine.
