Birmingham Swimming School Works On Franchising Kids’ Classes

Franchising a successful business is a no-brainer; making sure that franchise program actually delivers is something else.

That is where the founders of Birmingham-based Goldfish Swim School are now. The nearly 5-year-old company has one profitable franchise in Farmington Hills, which opened last year and offers infant and child swimming classes in a setting of beach-inspired decor, 90-degree water and 4-foot-deep pools.

Managers say Goldfish is in the right place to expand gradually and thoughtfully, emphasizing its niche in the swimming market. That includes an eye-catching atmosphere and the use of a state-of-the-art saltwater purification system that chlorinates their pools and is considered safer for young children’s skin.
