Pocola Fire Unit Getting Gift

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is giving the Pocola Fire Department a thermal imaging camera valued at $10,994 today at a Fort Smith restaurant.

The presentation will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Firehouse Subs at 2307 Zero St., according to a Firehouse Subs news release. Attendees will include local firefighters, their families, Fort Smith store franchisee Tracye Bush, area representative Jim Maxwell and Foundation Executive Director Robin Peters.

The camera will allow Pocola firefighters to quickly search for victims inside a burning structure. According to Firehouse Subs, the equipment will help protect first responders and save lives.
