Clam Digger Franchisees Can Own A Piece Of The Rock

R. Elliot Aronheim’s business career has had as many peaks and valleys as Brett Favre’s standing in the fantasy football community or Lindsay Lohan’s Q rating.

With The Clam Digger, a new Waterbury restaurant specializing in serving quality seafood at fast-food speed, he is hoping to reach another peak.

Aronheim, 67, is the founder and owner of Doogie’s hot dog restaurant in Newington, an eatery that received rave reviews in the July edition of celebrity chef Rachael Ray’s “Every Day With Rachael Ray” magazine. His latest business venture is to franchise both the Doogie’s restaurant model and The Clam Digger, a seafood counterpart to the hot dog restaurant.

The first Clam Digger franchise to open anywhere debuted in late August at 1051 Wolcott St., in a small plaza at the intersection of Wolcott Street and Lakewood Road. Continue reading.
