Cupcake Shop Leaves Main Street For New Life As Franchise

If the vacant storefront where Naticakes once tempted your sweet tooth has you fretting your cupcake supply, relax.

Nicole Sloane, founder of the company, sold the business to an enterprising couple who are the first franchisees of the Naticakes brand. Sloane’s cupcakes are now being sold alongside frozen yogurt at a store called Naticreme, at 4115 Mallory Lane.

Sloane, meanwhile, has moved back to Kentucky, where she attended college and worked for 10 years before opening the business in downtown Franklin. She opened another Naticakes store this month near the University of Kentucky campus. Sloane also is working to develop a line of coffee to serve in her stores, and that product is already available at the Mallory Lane location.
