Designated Driver For Hire

For people interested in going to the bar in a town in Ohio, one young entrepreneur is helping them get home reports WDTN2.

Cody Bratton, 21, started Divine Parking Services, Corp., a valet company, about a year ago. Soon after he launched another service, designated drivers for those who don’t want to leave their cars behind.

It started small and has spread mostly by word of mouth.

“A lot of people don’t know we exist,” said Bratton.

But soon Bratton’s business will take a big step, expanding to Cincinnati and Columbus by 2011.

The service works like this: With a simple phone call, two drivers will arrive at the bar to pick you up. One driver will take you home in your own car, while the other follows behind. In the end, you’re home safely, and you don’t have to leave your car at the bar.

“We’re trying to, in theory, save lives,” Bratton said.

The company is fully insured and has more than a dozen employees.
