Wright has been a Silpada Designs representative for the past eight years, selling sterling silver jewelry in relaxed home party settings – “playing dress up with jewelry” is how Janice puts it.

She’s also hosted numerous fundraising efforts over the years, so a fundraiser in recognition of National Breast Care Awareness Month was a natural course for her to take.

In stepped Heffron and Rideout, who opened Simply You in April on 120 Main St. in Bridgewater, to offer their salon for an after-hours jewelry party.

They also helped spread the word through their network of customers.

The result was a happy occasion on Oct. 4 with a serious underlying purpose.

Wright donated her entire commission on the night to the American Cancer Society, and party goers got to splurge knowing they were contributing to a great cause, she said.

“We had a great time,” Heffron said. “I actually got four pairs of earrings and a necklace,” she said with a chuckle, adding one of her clients bought four rings and a bracelet.
