Christmas is a time to profit from Santa-related knick-knacks, and What could be more festive than Santa shaped pasta noodles?
Kraft Foods has a patent from 1993 on just that item.
Do you see the resemblance?

Kraft is cleaver. I think they might have a noodle shape for almost every main holiday. At Halloween, they were selling instant mac with pumpkin, ghost, and bat shaped macaroni.

You can get a lot of information just from the patent abstract, which is what you show in this post.
First of all, it’s just a design patent, not a utility patent. That means that I could make Santa pasta as long as I changed the design some. Not the greatest protection.
Also, it looks like the four people it took to ‘invent’ this, cribbed their idea from Santa cookie cutters (note the references cited). Since this patent was assigned to Kraft foods, I’m guessing those four ‘inventors’ worked for the company.
And for some reason, it took the USPTO over 2 years to approve the patent.
And lastly, I could make an exact duplicate of the pasta and legally sell it and Kraft Foods couldn’t do a thing about it. The patent ran out in 2007.
Now Santa is in the public domain.
