Social Media Business Trends To Watch For In 2011
Social media has become increasingly important to businesses small and large over the past couple of years.
It is, however, a field that changes almost constantly. And few companies seem to realize that social media goes far beyond sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
2011 will be just as turbulent, but Gary Halliwell in a post at Venturebeat, put together six trends that should help entrepreneurs make the most of this exciting marketing opportunity.
1. Social customer service will drive revenue.
2. Social marketing will move beyond Facebook and LinkedIn.
3. Socially adept companies will align the needs of employees and customers.
4. Millennials will take another step forward into the breach.
5. Social will penetrate deeper into company structures.
6. Go live or go home.

Any type of promotional advertisement for small or middle businesses can bring just effort to them. Customers will recognise the brand easily and employees might be proud to work for successful employer. I know it may have (and maybe it already has) an enormous influence on our working and private lives; but this is not just a fancy trend this is an opportunity to go beyond the boundaries of everyday life…

Great points. I think you are particularly right with going live. It is important to have real people solving problems 24/7 in this day and age as people simply do not want to wait or deal with com-users for support anymore. Our office has recently started using live chat to help customers online and a telephone answering service to offer a live person available 24/7 on the phone.
