Cockroaches for Valentine’s Day
Flowers wilt. Chocolates melt. Roaches are forever.
As a Valentine’s Day special, The Bronx Zoo is selling naming rights for their cockroaches.
Can’t decide on what to get that special someone for Valentine’s Day? Sometimes the answer is all around us, and right where it’s been for millions of years—like cockroaches! How better to express your appreciation for that special someone than to name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after them?
Naming a roach in honor of someone near and dear to your heart shows that you’ve noticed how resilient, resourceful, and loyal that person is. Or maybe it’s in recognition of your one and only’s virility, or strength in the face of high radiation. You’re not afraid to say, “Baby, you’re a roach!”
Does this sound like something that the someone special in your life would enjoy? My wife would have nightmares for weeks if I got her this for Valentine’s Day.

Hubby gave me this for VDay and I love it! What better way to give me something than to make a donation in my name?!? We love the Bronx Zoo and I’m sure this is so much better than killing flowers and adding to my ever expanding pregnant waistline!

Sounds like something you’d do for someone you hate. Talk about a great way to release some anger and donate to a zoo! “Hay, remember how you broke my heart? I named a hissing cockroach after you! Yeah, that’s what I think of you.”
