Potty training is not always an easy process. Just ask any parent. In those early stages, the lack of access to a toilet can result in plenty of accidents. Although a training potties are relatively small and portable, they are not convenient for on-the-go use. That is a problem Amanda Jenner soon discovered with her own son.
Amanda has created a unique, portable potty that kids can use while away from home. It easily opens up for use, and it seals shut to hold the contents until it can be safely flushed at home.
I recently had the opportunity to ask Amanda a few questions about her unique product, My Carry Potty, and her motivation.
Tell us a little about the My Carry Potty.
My Carry Potty is the world’s only leak proof potty, invented so parents can potty train with complete ease.
What inspired it?
I was out shopping and my son George who was 2 years old and he wanted to use his potty, which I had in a plastic bag underneath my stroller. He did his business in the potty and I had to tip the contents down the nearest drain. I was then shouted at by a man for doing this but I had no other choice. I thought this is no good as when a toddler needs to go they need to go. I realized there was a need for a leak proof potty so potty training could be done anywhere and of course discreetly.
How does the My Carry Potty work?
My Carry Potty has a lid with a unique rubber seal which contains all the liquid, so a toddler can use it where ever they go, it’s completely leak proof and odor proof. This is the new solution to potty training as the experts are quoting!!!
Do you have any plans to expand your product outside of the UK? If so, when?
My Carry Potty is launching in all of the USA as we speak with Regal Larger our US distributors a truly amazing company, and also we are in 25 other countries.
Have you considered expanding your line to include other travel or potty training related products?
Yes we are in design stage of some exciting new products as we speak. I have just finished a potty training story which will launch next Month Worldwide, also comes with a reward chart and stickers for toddlers.
What are some goals that you’d still like to accomplish with your business?
The Goals i would like to accomplish are to start up some potty training workshops helping parents and give guidance to potty training.
What are some lessons that your business has taught you?
Business has taught me to be more organized and never give up.
I like to think all mompreneurs have a little “supermom” within them. Do you have any super tips or tricks that help keep you on top of your business and family life?
As a mum it is very hard to keep an even balance with family life and a new business, but I have always tried to involve my children and explain why mummy works so hard. I always make sure I choose a day where it’s just family time this is so important to both children and mummies.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I would like to say this has been a very exciting and rewarding journey with My Carry Potty. I have meet so many wonderful people and made some amazing new friends around the world, and I wouldn’t change a single thing in my life.
Do you have any advice that you’d like to offer fellow mompreneurs that are just getting started?
All the advice I would give those amazing future mompreneurs is follow your dream, believe in yourself and business idea, and through sheer determination and hard work comes success.
