The largest franchisee in the 525-unit Del Taco chain plans to open 13 more units in Utah as the nation’s third largest Mexican fast-food company sees dollar signs in the family-friendly state.
“Utah is a critical and growing market for Del Taco,” Chief Operating Officer Jim Lyons said. “These growth plans will continue to bring Del Taco’s great tasting food to more communities.”
Paul Hitzelberger, a former Del Taco executive who used to live in Newport Beach, said he’ll expand his footprint over the next few years because the Mexican concept has a huge following in Utah.
