Hot cross buns are in hot demand in the lead-up to the Easter break.
Yesterday’s call for 800 hot cross buns at Bakers Delight, Kawana Shoppingworld, was nothing compared to the expected 6500 to 8000 to come out of the ovens on Thursday.
Franchisee Ryan Kirkham called the day before Good Friday a baker’s busiest day of the year.
â€œChristmas is just a bit behind,â€ he said.
â€œWe will do about a week’s trade in a day on Thursday.â€
