Giffarine Scents Success With Perfume

Giffarine Skyline Unity, the Thai direct-sales company, has teamed up with the global fragrance maker Firmenich Group to create its own signature perfume, challenging international brands available in Thai retail channels.

Geneva-based Firmenich is the third foreign company with which Giffarine has joined to develop unique products. It has also worked with a Swiss company to develop food supplements and with a Japanese firm for skin-care and makeup development.

“We chose Firmenich because it has produced many famous international perfume brands. Product quality is the most important factor that has helped Giffarine stay in the Thai market for 15 years,” said president Nalinee Paiboon.

Mrs Nalinee said Giffarine would launch its first fragrance created in France in September. Called Giffarine Signature Eau de Parfum, the product will be sold at around 1,300 to 1,400 baht per bottle via the direct-sales network.

“The new perfume aims to challenge international perfume brands in retail channels. The launch of the new perfume will drive sales of Giffarine by 2-5% this year,” she said.

Apart from its perfume, the company preparing to launch another nine new products in the second half of this year.

Additionally, Giffarine is aiming to expand its direct-sales business abroad, with plans for the United States, Vietnam, Laos and the Philippines. The company expects to take about two years to start its overseas business.
