Grass Is Greener For Father And Son At Lawn Doctor

Scott Frith aspired to be many things — a veterinarian and firefighter when he was a kid, a corporate attorney or entrepreneur when he was in college — but he never thought he’d wind up working with his father at Lawn Doctor.

Scott Frith’s family moved to New Jersey when he was six because his father accepted a job as the lawn care company’s marketing manager. He remembers being fascinated by the sound of cicadas buzzing in the trees around their house in Jackson.

Russell Frith, now the Holmdel company’s CEO and president, originally came to Lawn Doctor as a customer in dire need of help with his grass. Scott Frith, now vice president of franchise development, started by working part-time in a warehouse, loading supplies into vans for the firm’s new franchisees.
