McDonalds Boss Serves Up Birthday Success

Leighton Buzzard Today:

Leighton businessman Ismail Anilmis and his staff from Leighton’s branch of McDonald’s celebrated a double success this week a decade after the branch opened its doors in Billington Road.

The 52-year-old is also marking 30 years in the burger business. He has surprised and delighted himself that he has come such a long way since he first took a temporary part-time job as a crew member at his local burger restaurant to earn a bit of extra cash.

Turkish-born Ismail found that he loved the job so much that he’s made it his McCareer, rising through the ranks to now run five franchises in Leighton, Hockliffe, Bedford and Baldock – with dreams of opening more.

The burger boss has also thrown himself into the community. A staunch football fan, he has put his weight behind the town’s youth soccer movement, backing Leighton United FC and is now the club’s president.
