Dog Massage: Makes Everyone Feel Better
Science has shown that petting a dog releases a hormone called oxytocin in both the dog and the petter, which makes everyone feel better. Oxytocin, called the “love hormone”, is the naturally occurring chemical in the body responsible for bonding between mother and baby in humans.
Do you know what feels better than just feeling good? Getting paid for it.
A woman in North Fort Meyers, Florida hoping to capitalize on the good feelings has started a dog massage business.

We live in a neighborhood FULL of wonderful dogs, and I find by far the happiest, most well adjusted canines love being stroked and touched. I use a greeting ritual with several of them called the ‘Tooshy Pat”… and I concentrate on their lower back, petting and patting them as we communicate with one another. I swear, when they see me next..they can’t wait to get petted again, happily jumping up to ‘get some love touches’. This has GOT to be beneficial to the animal’s health too, not just his good mood, right?? And for animals who are ailing, senior or recovering from some kind of injury, that kind of ‘kneading’ probably boosts their immune systems as well.
