Jim’s Franchisees Add Neighbourhood Watch To Daily Tasks In Victoria

Franchising.net.au:

Hundreds of Jim’s Group franchisees and staff are teaming up with Crimes Stoppers and Neighbourhood Watch in a pilot program to help fight crime in the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston.

Franchisees across the divisions, including lawn mowers, painters, carpet cleaners, painters, antenna installers, pavers and dog washers, will be watching out for suspicious behaviour while they carry on their daily work. They will be promoting the community action with vans in the area sporting prominent Crime Stoppers and Neighbourhood Watch signage. Information about the initiative will also be going out to Jim’s clients with their bills, to explain the partnership.

Mornington Police Officer Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Michael Lamb is the man behind the idea. Sgt Lamb said the idea for the Jim’s partnership came to him at home when he noticed a Jim’s van out in the street. “I thought, these Jim’s vans, they’re everywhere. The Jim’s workers are on the streets, in gardens, up on roofs, up on ladders, in houses. It seemed obvious to go with them and Jim’s was the right organisation to go with because it all happened very quickly, thanks to the support of Richard Reid and Jim himself.
