Co-Owner To Contest Sale

Tony Packo’s Inc. co-owner Robin Horvath, whose bid to buy the East Toledo restaurant chain was rejected this month by a Lucas County Common Pleas judge, has served notice he intends to contest the sale of the company.

An attorney for Mr. Horvath, who owns 50 percent of Packo’s and is its chief operating officer, filed a notice in common pleas that he soon will file an appeal with Ohio’s 6th District Court of Appeals, which is based in Toledo. Mr. Horvath had 30 days to file an appeal after an Oct. 6 ruling by Judge Gene Zmuda that approved the sale of the company for $5.5 million to TP Foods LLC, the buying group that represents Burger King franchisee Bob Bennett, of Bennett Management Corp.
