Coffee To Save Historic “Original Avon Lady” Home

Albee House Coffee Roasters is named in honor of the Winchester home that was once the residence of Persis Albee — the first “Avon lady” — who invented the marketing strategy used by Avon Cosmetics.
The first goal is to raise money to help Holmes’s friend and the current owner of Albee’s house, Harry Bickford, save the building from foreclosure, Holmes said.
But if the company is successful its charitable resources could move on to another project, such as a scholarship fund to help women in business, he said.
