For as long as he can remember, Blake Terry has wanted to be a restaurant franchisee. A few months ago, his hopes were realized, and now he spends his days keeping the dream alive.
â€œI canâ€™t really say why getting into this business appealed to me so long ago,â€ said Terry, a 2009 graduate of Texas Techâ€™s well-known Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management program.
â€œI know Iâ€™m not a person who can sit behind a desk all day. I have to be hands on. When I wake up every day, I look forward to coming to work and putting a smile on peopleâ€™s faces. And time just flies.â€
Virtually every day is special to Terry since June 6, when he opened a Lubbock location of the Burger House, a quick-serve burger joint just off the intersection of 19th Street and University Avenue.
