It simply erases from the mind of its subject the undesired information, leaving them otherwise functional, lucid, and oriented.

Call me a nutburger but – I liked the one from FANTASTIC VOYAGE, when they took the science team and submarine, once they had shrunk to microscopic… injecting them all into someone’s body, in order to take a trip around the person’s insides. Wayyy cool. And think what the implications would be for diagnosis of medical problems. You could be cruising down the stomach lining, Catching a breeze in the lungs, dude!. And sailing along the bloodstream, with a heart beat driving everything like a great river. That’s the ‘trip’ for me!!!
