Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc.’s (DNKN) Baskin-Robbins ice-cream business reached a franchising agreement with a Vietnamese food manufacturer to develop the brand in that country.
Under the agreement with Blue-Star Food Corp., Baskin-Robbins expects to open about 50 locations in Vietnam over the next several years, including three set to open this week in Ho Chi Minh City.
With the opening in Vietnam, Baskin-Robbins now has over 6,600 locations in nearly 50 countries.
Baskin-Robbins, which has about 2,800 restaurants domestically, has focused its growth more on international markets while it works to improve sales and profitability at its U.S. locations.
