Storage Lockers for Dogs

This Hundehiet (“Dog Den” in Norwegian) sit unassumingly outside of a grocery store in Oslo, Norway. For just about $1.75, you can keep your dog safe and dry in a doggy-storage-locker while you shop.
As I see it, the locker solves a number of problems that shoppers with pets-in-tow might have:
- Shoppers won’t be tempted to take their pooch inside of the grocery store.
- The dogs will be kept safe from thieves who might be tempted to make off with a lonely dog tied up outside the store.
- The pooch will kept out of the elements, and protected from the rain, snow and blistering summer heat.
Does just leaving your dog at home not cut it anymore?

I’m not really sure what to say about that! Part of me likes the idea, but on the other hand… I can imagine people arguing against it. After all, it is essentially a metal locker. Would you lock your kids up in one?

I guess that is a future possibility for the trend: metal boxes that babysit your children. Ouch!
