Firehouse Subs Donating $10k In Training Equipment To Blue Ash FD

FOX19:

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is awarding much needed equipment to the Blue Ash Fire Department during a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the Firehouse Subs in Blue Ash. Otherwise unavailable due to budget constraints, the department benefits with a live fire extinguisher training system, worth $10,247. The new simulator will allow firefighters to instruct residents in the community on proper fire extinguisher use.

The fire department receives many requests for fire extinguisher training and this new simulator will provide an efficient method of teaching. Since 2005, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated $79,921 to public safety entities in Ohio.

Firehouse Subs’ founders and their family have a 200-year firefighting heritage that inspired the formation of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides funding, resources and support to public safety entities. “We are truly serving subs and saving lives,” said Chad Whitaker, franchisee of the Blue Ash Firehouse Subs location. “Our Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation’s support of our local heroes impacts us all.”
