A franchise event organiser has slammed a rival firm for scheduling its two new shows this year on the same dates.
The fourth edition of the Franchise Show, run by The Prysm Group, will be held at Excel London on 24 and 25 February, the same two days Venture Marketing Group (VMG) has chosen for its debut February edition of its National Franchise Exhibition at The NEC in Birmingham.
The Prysm Group’s next Franchise Show at Earls Court on 7 and 8 September also clashes with VMG’s Franchise Opportunities Live, scheduled to take place at The Gallery Rooms at the Hilton hotel in Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
The Prysm Group’s marketing communications director Tom Borthen claimed the date clash was to the detriment of the industry and exhibitor choice.
“It is disappointing that exhibitions are portrayed negatively because of stunts like this but we are very confident in our product as the definitive franchise exhibition,†he said. Prysm expects 12,000 visitors and 120 exhibitors at next week’s show.
