Firehouse Franchisee Donates Equipment To Upstate Fire Departments

A local businessman came to the aid of three Upstate fire departments on Monday.

Firehouse Subs franchisee Omar Ghorbani, in partnership with the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, donated more than $25,000 in equipment to fire houses in Una, Woodruff and Hickory Tavern.

During a ceremony at Ghorbani’s Duncan restaurant, firefighters unveiled the items that will be used to help save the lives of area residents. Woodruff Fire Department received a Polaris Ranger utility terrain vehicle worth $12,776. Una Community Fire Department was given vehicle stabilization struts and accessories worth $6,046, and Hickory Tavern Fire Department got two pulse oximeters and a plastic cribbing set worth $6,603.
