A popular fast food chain in the Southeast is coming to the Lowcountry. Del Taco announced Wednesday that the company plans to open 8-10 franchises in the Charleston area over the next five years.
Del Taco opened its first South Carolina restaurant in Rock Hill in 2010, and before that opened new restaurants in Orlando.
Del Taco serves a wide range of Mexican favorites including tacos, burritos and quesadillas and American favorites such as burgers, crinkle-cut fries and shakes. According to a press release, all of their menu items are made-to-order using fresh ingredients including freshly grated cheddar cheese hand-cut from 40 pound blocks, hand-made salsa, slow-cooked lard-free beans and marinated chicken grilled fresh throughout the day, every day.
