School Of Thought: Put Out The Welcome Mat For Franchises

Franchising was once taboo in our John Jay High School niche. Despite the presence of Dunkin’ Donuts in the Goldens Bridge shopping center for years, many of our citizens were reluctant to welcome new franchises into the area. But recently, a Subway opened in the same Goldens Bridge shopping center, seemingly opening the gates to admitting big businesses to set up shop in our community. The question now, though, is what does this mean for the future?

After the recent opening of the Subway in Goldens Bridge, many have felt a small victory for our community. Obviously, those who were opposed to franchises in the past have since eased up with their concerns, allowing the town to approve another Subway, into the Orchard Square shopping center. This is great news for students and adults looking for a quick meal, who now have easy access in our area to the healthiest fast food. Read on.
