Hi! I'm Dane Carlson, and welcome to the Business Opportunities Weblog. I've been publishing this website, by myself, and sometimes with the help of others for over twelve years now. You'll notice two things about this site right away:

  • We have tons of content. In fact, since November 2011, I've published more than 26,000 posts on thousands of different business ideas and opportunities.
  • We don't sell much advertising. In late 2013, I realized that by selling advertising, what I was really selling was my readers. In 2014, I've already radically cut down on the number of ads and will hopefully keep cutting.

Directors and representatives from franchise associations across Europe gathered in Prague last month to consider Britain’s developments in ethical rules for franchising and how to apply them more widely.

The meeting, which was hosted by the Chairman and Director of the franchise association of the Czech Republic, included representatives from associations as far afield as Slovenia, Ukraine, Finland, Turkey, France, Germany, Italy and Holland.

At the event Brian Smart, Director General of the British Franchise Association (bfa), introduced the bfa’s rules on refunding pre-contractual deposits, on the rights of franchise owners to sell their businesses as going concerns, on the disclosure of purchase incentives by franchisors and on the charges for renewing franchise agreements. More.
