Niche Biz: Chickenpox-Infected Lolipops

Lollipos

According to Jerry Martin, U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, it is a federal crime to send diseases or viruses across state lines, but that hasn’t stopped one Nashville woman who is charging $50 for a chickenpox-infected lollipop. Customers are lining up. AllVoices has more:

It seems that these days, even the most absurd kind of business ideas can flourish. A mother in Nashville is making it big with chickenpox-infected lollipops by selling them to other parents who want their children to contract the virus.

Another Idea: How to Start a Attorney Business

I don’t really think that is a good idea. Anyway, isn’t there a vaccine for chickenpox now?

  • amy

Awesome! Where do I get one? ;) Chickenpox is getting harder to find these days, although $50 is a bit pricey for an infested sucker. I’ll guess I’ll stick to word of mouth…

Yeah, there’s a vaccine for it, but some little kids don’t like needles. I remember when myself and my brother had it, my neighbour sent her kids (who were only a few years younger than us) over to play hoping they’d catch it from us. (hell I don’t like needles either…)

I think that some people, me included, don’t trust the idea of getting more vaccines than necessary.

I’d like it if my wife took our kids to a “chickenpox party”, but I don’t think I’d buy a used lollipop from someone over the internet.

For now, it’s compulsory to have a chicken pox vaccine. It can really help strengthen immune system.
