Did you know that flip flops are a $20 billion dollars industry? I had no idea.

Flip flops have replaced the running shoe, said Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst with the NPD Group. “It’s one of the few categories that, even during the recession, continues to do well,” he said. “Flip-flops, from even before the girls wore them in the White House, under Bush, have been a staple item in the wardrobe.”

    Yes, they are big business but not very supportive for your feet. The shelves at Walmart are covered with them. Go to a higher end store and you can purchase them for up to $50 a pair with some fancy trim. Sorry, but us older folks prefer something more substantial.
