I love how it says they’re as serious as a heart attack. Considering gummy bears are supposed to be a fat free snack, hopefully they’re not an actual heart attack in the making. Seriously, though, that would made an interesting piece on the snack table at a party. A little expensive, but it would definitely generate some conversation.

I vegetarian, can anyone tell me how much beef or pork gelatin is held within such a sized sweet?

    FYI:

Proposed changes to Article 2.3.13.14 (re: Gelatin and Collagen):
The United States supports the removal of the requirement to exclude skulls and
vertebrae from raw material used in the production of gelatin for zones posing a
controlled or undetermined risk. We agree that such a decision is firmly grounded in
science as demonstrated by the opinion of the scientific panel on biological hazards of the
European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) wherein it is stated that the exclusion of skulls
and vertebrae does not significantly contribute to the safety of gelatin.

This was after the BSE crisis in Europe.
