Typical of crass government stupidity; they made it illegal to melt pennies for their true value in copper when, in fact, the penny actually limited the scope of inflation: if not by tying the dollar to the gold-standard, at least by tying the penny to the copper-standard!
Interesting point of view. I am sure this video rings true for people who wish the government would stop producing the penny. Personally, I am the penny pincher who still spends pennies at the register to make exact change. What I don’t spend, I collect in my change jar. Who takes pennies besides Coinstar? The bank. They don’t take a fee when I turn in all my change for cash because I am a customer.
