Naked & Famous Denim is a blue jean company in Montreal, Quebec that uses the most unique and rare denim fabrics from Japan. The prestigious mill in Japan, from which they import all our fabric, is committed to producing only the best (and most expensive) denim in the world.

Their newest creation: glow in the dark jeans.

The photos above have not be photoshopped in anyway, according the company.

According to the company:

The jeans work because we apply a phosphorescent coating to the fabric in Japan. This coating is baked into the fabric and will absorb light and slowly release that light with an emanating green glow, just like those Glow in the Dark stickers we had on our ceiling as a kid. Another fun aspect of the jeans is after you beat them up a bit the wear patterns will cause the coating to fade in certain parts of the jean and will create a unique piece of glowing art!

We have done 5 wash tests and the jeans still glow nicely. If you want the glow to last as long as possible, wash your jeans as little as possible, (we know you do that anyways) or just dry clean them.

I can see people, mostly kids, wearing those jeans as a fashion statement, but I think it also promotes safety. After all, when kids are out walking, riding their bikes, or skateboarding a little too late into the evening, their pants would alert drivers when they are on the side of the road. I’ve passed too many kids at night that were not visible because they chose to wear dark clothing.
