By the Minute Cafe

Springwise:

At the bright and open Anticaf’e, customers pay one ruble and 50 kopecks for each minute they stay. Drinks and snacks, on the other hand, are free. Aiming to create a space where consumers can relax and pursue their favorite diversions, the venue offers tea, coffee and desserts at no charge, and patrons can bring their own refreshments as well. An assortment of board games are on hand for entertainment, meanwhile, as are Xbox games, wifi and a cinema hall.

I am really curious how much that would be in American dollars/cents. I don’t know how ‘relaxing’ that would be for customers, though. They are paying by the minute to sit there after all.

It’s about 5 cents. Basically it’s in my neighborhood, although I’ve never been)).

Interessting idea. Thinking about trying something like this but I think about how to make it as a one time party gag… Buy a check in ticket and check out when you leave paying for how long you stayed. Hmmm. But does sound a little bit too stressy for a small town cafe. Maybe something for an overcrowded one in Munich, NYC or London. But I think even there you want a time-out.
