This video below shows a live crab vending machine from China that dispenses hibernating Chinese mitten crabs in little plastic cages.
The crab is a famous delicacy in Shanghai cuisine and is prized for the female crab roe. The inside of the crab vending machine is kept at 41 degrees, a temperature cold enough to make the crabs go into a state of hibernation.
I wonder when this will take off in the US?
