It’s quite a change from running childcare centres to providing rubbish removal solutions, but what it really boils down to is seeing a need and providing a service for Mackay business couple Craig and Cathie McGifford.
The couple’s latest business venture is called Rhino Skip Bags, a reinforced polypropylene bag which comes to you all folded up and easy to store until you are ready to load it with rubbish.
When it’s unfolded it can hold 700kg and Rhino Skip Bags will collect and dump it for you.
Prior to this venture, the McGiffords spent 20 years running the Billabong childcare centres around the city.
They opened Billabong Kindyland in Hamilton St, North Mackay and later opened Billabong Kindytown and Kindyworld.
“All up, I spent 30 years in childcare, 20 with the centres and I think it’s still in my blood, but well, I’m in rubbish now,” Mrs McGifford said.
