Christmas Tree Seller Offers Camel Rides in the Summer

I love reading about strange businesses like this one. Dustin Noffsinger sells Christmas trees during the winter and camel rides in the summer. The New Review has more:

Since Al moved from Southern California to this rural North County town two months ago, the 7-year-old Arabian camel has spent much of the past two months adjusting to wet weather.

“When it rains, he runs under cover, but he’s getting used to it,” owner Dustin Noffsinger said.

Noffsinger, 33, who used to work with camels at Wildlife Safari in Winston, bought Al at a camel dairy in Romona, Calif. two months ago. His new business, Dustin’s Top Notch Camel Rides, opens next month, and he already has Al booked for two family reunions and a Fourth of July celebration.

He plans to buy a baby camel from the same dairy by the end of next summer so Al, which is short for Ali Baba, will have a friend.
