Bruegger’s Bagels and Jamba Juice Combine Forces with Co-Branding Deal

Two well-known brands are about to join forces.

Bruegger’s Bagels, known for its authentic New York-style bagels and signature egg sandwiches, and Jamba Juice, a specialty beverage brand, are teaming up to open nine co-branded stores in the Midwest, East Coast and New England.

With this partnership, bringing the best of both brands together, customers will be able to enjoy Bruegger’s authentic New York-style bagels and egg sandwiches along with Jamba’s freshly squeezed juices and signature smoothies and protein bowls — all under one roof.

In September, their first co-branded location is expected to open, with six Bruegger’s Bagels stores and three Jamba Juice stores to begin the rollout.

The idea was born when franchisee David Katz, who had licenses for both Bruegger’s and Jamba Juice units, decided to maximize the space of his Bruegger’s location near the University of Connecticut by installing a separate Jamba kiosk inside. The moved proved to be a success, so Katz installed a kiosk at a second Bruegger’s location.
While these locations have two brand-separated POSs with two lines facing each other, the corporate, cobranded stores will feature a single system with two POS stations serving items from both brands.

Five cobranded stores are scheduled to open in the fall: two in Boston, one in Pittsburgh, one in Minneapolis and one in Iowa.
