For Betsy McAtee, winning the Business Makeover Birmingham contest has been an eye-opening experience.
In the last two months, the chief operating officer of Dreamland Holding Co. LLC, which runs Dreamland Bar-B-Que restaurants and its franchise, said she’s learned more about her company than she ever thought she could know – the good, the bad and the ugly.
But the main thing she’s garnered from the process so far, she said, is the essential need to step back from the daily operations and look at the company as a whole, so the business can move forward in the direction it needs to go.
