Football Fan Hopes To Help Injured Players

My SA:

With the start of Pro Sports Technologies, Rodriguez has created technological sensors that can instantly provide a football’s spot placement and another that tracks collision information to determine a concussion — all with the ability to deliver the information in time for referees and coaches to make a call during a suspenseful game.

His latest invention, an emergency medical tracking system, can immediately transmit a player’s medical history to medical personnel after an injury occurs.

In a likely situation, if an athlete hurts his leg during a game, athletic trainers and medical staff on site would check to see whether that player had a previous leg injury.

An appointed trainer can scan the player’s barcode, pull up the medical history and transmit the information to the hospital or print the information for an emergency medical technician.

The information will get to the hospital before the player even arrives, Rodriguez said.
