Homemade Gourmet, It’s Whats For Dinner

The Miami County Republic:

While most vendors at the Paola Farmers’ Market work for hours or days to create a product to sell, Libby Wakeman’s products ask the customer to do the work – though there’s not much work to be done.

Wakeman is a consultant for Homemade Gourmet, a meal solutions company that offers quick simple solutions to the question, “What’s for dinner?”

Wakeman, of rural Paola, has been a consultant for more than a year but was a customer first.

“I wasn’t the best cook in the world,” she admitted. “But with Homemade Gourmet, cooking is easy and fun. I love that I can cook healthy for my family.”

Homemade Gourmet has simple mixes and recipes for items such as drinks and dips to entrees and desserts.
Wakeman got the idea to sell products at the farmers’ market from some consultant friends in Texas who told her how much they love vending at markets.

“I love farmers’ markets because growing up in Indiana on a farm, I had an aunt who always baked bread and made crafts and sold them at a farmers’ market in Indiana,” Wakeman said. “I know how important it is to shop local and support people.”
In addition to selling at the farmers’ market, Wakeman hosts in-home gatherings.

“I just enjoy introducing people to Homemade Gourmet,” she said. “I have quite a selection for people — whether they need to plan ahead or think fast on the go.”
