Schiappa Foods Corp., which operates 15 Arby’s restaurants in South Florida – including seven in Palm Beach County – has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
According to the Tuesday filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in West Palm Beach, Schiappa Foods plans to reorganize and keep operating.
Meanwhile, Craig Pugatch, an attorney with Rice Pugatch Robinson & Schiller, Fort Lauderdale, which represents the Palm Beach Gardens-based company, said some locations could close.
“There is going to be a decision made as to which ones stay open and which ones won’t,” he said.
Prior to the filing, Schiappa Foods had closed several Arby’s eateries that were not doing well, Pugatch said. He did not know their locations. More.
