Power franchisees of Nagpur and Aurangabad – Spanco and GTL – have got a breather from MSEDCL over non-payment of dues. The power distributor, which had issued show cause notices to the two companies, has told them to pay their dues by September-end or face termination of contract.
Spanco’s dues have mounted to Rs 153 crore while GTL’s figure is around Rs 140 crore. Spanco has been in arrears right from the beginning.
MSEDCL director (finance) Dattatray Wavhal had summoned Spanco and GTL officials to Mumbai on Friday to discuss non-payment of dues.
