The 49-year old was a hub engineer with the responsibility for ensuring that CCTV cameras monitoring London’s congestion charge zone worked properly.

But when he lost his job he decided to take responsibility for his own future and become a Snack-in-the-box franchisee.

“I’d looked into franchising before, and seen a lot of opportunities, but none that really offered what I wanted – particularly on the support side,” Martin said.

“But when I looked at Snack-in-the-box, the previous franchisee told me that head office support was excellent, and that has turned out to be the case.

“If ever I’ve got a problem, I simply make a phone call. They even help you find new customers and sites, which is really useful as I’m not a great salesperson.” Read full story.
