Donatos Planning To Double Franchises

Columbus Dispatch:

Donatos plans to step up its expansion under new leadership, the company said yesterday.

The Columbus-based pizza chain plans to nearly double its size over the next 10 years, with commitments to open at least 250 franchise locations during that period, new CEO Tom Krouse said yesterday.

Donatos will expand in current markets as well as new ones, he said, noting that it has stores opening in the Carolinas for the first time.

“My plan is to uphold the mission and promise of this company,” he said. “The commitment to Columbus remains strong, and we are looking to grow in new markets east of the Mississippi.”

The growth will take place under a new leadership team announced yesterday. Krouse replaces company founder Jim Grote as CEO, and former company President Jane Grote Abell was promoted to chairwoman.
