Burger King Expands Into Poland

burger-king.jpgThrough a subsidiary, Burger King Corp. has awarded development rights for Poland.

The Miami-based fast-food chain said Burger King Europe GmbH arranged for American Restaurants Sp. z.o.o., a subsidiary of AmRest Holdings N.V., to have the rights.

AmRest is based in Wroclaw, Poland.

Burger King said the first Burger King restaurant in Poland is scheduled to open in the second quarter of the calendar year.

The restaurant is to be in Zlote Tarasy, a multi-use development under construction to house 220 shops and retail outlets in Warsaw.

Burger King said additional restaurant openings are scheduled during the next five years.

Peter Robinson, president of Burger King Europe, said expanding into Poland is part of the company’s overall growth plan to increase its presence in both existing European Burger King markets and in new ones…
