Just about everyone who comes through the door at the Belknap Mall’s newest business, the Rock Salt Creamery, thinks the retro art deco style sign and 1950s ice cream parlor look of the interior, with bright, bold colors and lots of chrome, are the product of a corporate franchise.
Tom Morrison, who has been working along with his partners at the Heritage Farm LLC in Sanbornton for nearly 10 years to create the business, takes that as a high compliment.
“It tells me that we’ve done a good job in creating our image. Believe me, as much work and thought went into designing the logo and creating the right kind of atmosphere for this business as went into the product end of the business,” says Morrison.
And, if things work out as planned, the creamery will be a franchise operation, but it will be Morrison and his partners who will be doing the franchising.
